About the Opportunity

CleanCo is building its first Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) as part of the development of the Swanbank Clean Energy Hub. At 250MW/500MWh and with a two-hour storage capacity, the Swanbank Battery will be one of the largest in Queensland when operational in mid-2025.

Due to this growth, we are seeking a BESS Superintendent to join the Swanbank Leadership Team. This critical role will be responsible for overseeing the safe and efficient integration, operation, and long-term asset management of our BESS. 

You’ll play a key role in ensuring that our BESS meets availability and capacity targets while supporting CleanCo's operational goals. This position requires a blend of technical expertise, leadership ability, and stakeholder management skills to drive BESS integration from project phase to business-as-usual operations.

This is a 2-year maximum term contract based at our Swanbank Power Station in Ipswich.

About you

To be successful in this role you will have:

• High level management expertise and mature judgement to facilitate the effective asset management and the efficient use of the BESS.
• Extensive leadership experience in a high-risk environment (high voltage/ power industry preferred).
• Technical understanding of BESS systems desirable and cybersecurity practices for critical infrastructure.
• Proven experience in asset management or operations within energy, infrastructure, or industrial settings, ideally with expertise in BESS.
• Trade or Degree Electrical Qualifications and experience with high voltage systems is essential.
• Demonstrated understanding of risk management principles and HS&E legislation and permit-to-work systems.
• You have a passion to be part of something bigger than yourself, that contributes to the delivery of a clean energy future crafted in Queensland.
