About the Opportunity

As Communications & Media Specialist, you’ll play a key leadership role in CleanCo’s Government Relations and Communications team. Reporting to the Corporate Communications Manager, you’ll lead the delivery of internal and external communications strategies that support CleanCo’s enterprise goals and reputation. 
 

This permanent role offers the opportunity to shape CleanCo’s media presence, manage proactive and reactive communications, and support executive and board-level messaging. You’ll also lead a small team of advisors and officers, and work closely with stakeholders across government, industry, and community. 

Key responsibilities include: 

  • Leading media engagement, including media plans, releases, Q&As, and events 
  • Managing CleanCo’s digital channels including website, intranet and social media 
  • Supporting internal communications aligned to our employee value proposition 
  • Delivering effective communications strategies to support the delivery of CleanCo projects and initiatives 
  • Advising on reputational risk, brand management and stakeholder engagement strategies 
  • Coaching and mentoring team members to deliver high-impact communications 

About you

  • You are a seasoned communications professional with at least 7 years’ experience in media and corporate communications. Experience in government relations is also desirable. You bring strong stakeholder engagement skills and a track record of delivering strategic communications in complex environments. 
  • You’re confident working with directly with media stakeholders and ministerial offices, and ideally have experience in a government-owned corporation or the Queensland energy sector. You’re a natural leader who thrives in a collaborative, values-driven team. 
  • Your qualifications include a degree in communications, journalism, marketing or a related field. IAP2 certification is a bonus. 
  • You have a passion to be part of something bigger than yourself, that contributes to the delivery of a clean energy future crafted in Queensland.
