What you'll contribute to

As a Control Systems Engineer, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the reliability, security and long-term performance of CleanCo's operational technology environment across our generation portfolio. Your work will directly support CleanCo's ability to operate safely, securely and reliably while delivering lower-emission energy solutions across Queensland.

In this role you’ll:

  • Lead the strategy, planning and lifecycle management of critical control systems and operational technology assets including SCADA, PLC and DCS platforms.
  • Drive the delivery of CleanCo's OT asset management roadmap and support compliance with critical infrastructure and cyber security obligations.
  • Partner to improve system reliability, cyber resilience and asset integrity.
  • Provide technical leadership and specialist advice on control systems, OT architecture, functional safety and emerging regulatory requirements.
  • Support major projects, plant upgrades and new energy assets to ensure systems are designed, implemented and maintained to a high standard.
  • Manage specialist vendors and service providers, ensuring quality delivery, strong governance and value for money.
  • Help identify and mitigate operational technology risks while developing practical, sustainable solutions that support long-term business outcomes.

This role is a full-time permanent position based out of Brisbane with regular travel to CleanCo generation assets.

On your first day we expect you to have:

  • Proven experience working with SCADA, PLC and DCS systems in power generation, utilities, heavy industry, mining, oil and gas, water or process manufacturing environments.
  • Degree qualifications in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering or a related discipline.
  • RPEQ accreditation, or the ability to obtain RPEQ within six months.
  • Strong knowledge of Operational Technology systems, architectures and cyber security principles, including frameworks such as SOCI, AESCSF and/or IEC62443.
  • Experience managing stakeholders, contractors, vendors and technical service providers across multiple sites.
  • Ability to analyse complex technical challenges, prioritise risks and deliver practical engineering solutions.

  • The opportunity to contribute to Queensland’s clean energy future and see the real-world impact of your work
  • A supportive environment that embraces change and encourages continuous learning
  • Space to take ownership, backed by trust and accountability
